Mobile Internet Applications

Mobile applications Essential features:

  • Mass-market audience
  • Video streaming
  • Advanced screen controls
  • Automated content management
  • Detailed analytics and reporting

Cielo’s mobile Internet capabilities establish a direct and interactive relationship between our clients and mobile consumers.  We do this across the broadest set of cell phones –- not just Blackberries and iPhones -- but the hundreds of millions of Motorola, Sony Ericsson and other cell phones in consumers’ pockets.  With Cielo, your mobile presence will reach every consumer with an experience optimized for his/her phone, based on   handset type and carrier.

Cielo’s mobile Internet platform improves upon legacy wireless WAP experiences.  As an evolution of WAP 2.0, it combines:

  • Streaming video and other rich-media assets,
  • Advanced widgets and graphical screen controls, and
  • Data capture and analytics that measure consumer behavior and the mobile site’s effectiveness.

The fragmentation problem

Cielo solves the mobile fragmentation problem within disparate handsets, addressing differences that include:

  • Varying screen sizes and keypad input types,
  • Supported content formats and browser behaviors, and
  • Network constraints and carrier limitations.

We reach a mass market of cell-phone users without settling for the lowest-common-denominator approach or “shoehorning” transcoded desktop markup.

A solution for all handset types

Cielo’s mobile internet platform identifies each consumer’s device at the point of the consumer’s click through.  It then dynamically renders our client’s mobile presence, using attributes of the device to generate markup that optimizes the experience.  The platform uses an abstraction library to automatically control page size, screen elements, image compression, and device-specific capabilities and features.

For example, if Cielo detects a Samsung A900, it transparently serves a version of the site with a screen size of 240 x 320 and scales all buttons, screen controls, list boxes, images, and even ad insertions.  If we detect a low-end handset without video support, the consumer experience is preserved less the choices for video.

Your mobile presence is not your website

Simply creating a mobile version of an existing website fails to embrace the different value proposition that mobile services offer.  Even consumers with smartphones, when surveyed, say they do not “browse” on mobile. For example, they do not traverse travel sites for vacation packages, but do desire up-to-the-minute flight information .

Cielo does not duplicate a company’s existent website as a top-level UR, but provides specific site with a measurable call to action as  well as    utility and entertainment suited for consumers on the go.  Cielo uses a multiserving approach that adapts both the content and the interactive experience for each phone type.

Content Management

Cielo provides a managed-service environment designed for real-time and near real-time content integration, processing and management.

We continuously monitor our clients’ own content management systems, automatically acquiring and processing new content as soon as it becomes available. This eliminates the need for time-consuming and labor-intensive pre-processing and content editing.
